In an exciting development for the health and wellness industry, Wellbeing of Women announced the launch of its Employer Membership Programme, and Benefiz are proud to be one of their founding members. This innovative initiative aims to provide women with unparalleled access to support for issues such as menstrual health, infertility, miscarriage, gynaecological cancers and the menopause. The programme is designed to help employers navigate these issues confidently, develop policies and programmes of support that benefit the entire organisation.

Who are Wellbeing of Women?
Wellbeing of Women are a charity that aim to improve access to high-quality and accurate healthcare and information for women. They do this by funding research, running campaigns to raise awareness, and holding events and webinars to help educate women and employers.

What inspired Benefiz to sign up to Wellbeing of Women?
“I became familiar with Wellbeing of Women as Benefiz had signed their Menopause Workplace Pledge. When we were asked to be a founding member of the Employer Membership Program, during the initial meeting to talk about this, it was immediately obvious there were so many reasons why this would be a great fit for Benefiz. I have my own personal reasons as well. 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis, but it took seven years to reach that diagnosis. Years of unexplained pain, numerous visits to doctors with no outcome, then receiving answers and surgery, also played havoc with my mental health! Throw in my age and the perimenopause, keeping it all together in the workplace hasn’t been and won’t always be easy. This is where an employer’s knowledge and understanding of women’s health and wellbeing can make a huge difference to women’s working lives. The Employer Membership Program gives employers the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to support women’s health in the workplace. Luckily, I have always felt comfortable talking about my health issues, and I know that at Benefiz the support is there (for everyone) when needed. Sadly, this isn’t the case for so many women in their workplaces and this needs to change!
I’m very excited to be joining Wellbeing of Women and our fellow founding members in London next month, so please do watch out for further updates from me/Benefiz on this.”
